This role owns system architecture, technical execution, and customer confidence from concept through commissioning.You will guide engineering and field teams, make high-impact technical decisions, and ensure projects are delivered successfully in real-world operational environments such as airports and industrial facilities.This role is built on experience, leadership, and accountability. You are not only solving technical challenges-you are helping shape how complex automation systems are designed, delivered, and supported while mentoring the next generation of engineers.What You'll Do:Lead technical execution of automation projects from design through commissioningArchitect complex control systems across electrical, mechanical, and IT disciplinesDevelop and review PLC/HMI code, electrical designs, and system documentationServe as a primary technical contact for customers and project managersCoordinate engineering and field execution to keep projects on trackMentor and guide engineers through technical challenges and developmentLead design reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practicesDiagnose complex system issues and implement long-term solutionsSupport on-site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting when requiredThis is a hands-on engineering role, not strictly a desk-based position. Successful engineers in this role are comfortable working both in the office and in the field. That may include tasks such as supporting installation activities, mounting enclosures, running or terminating cables, and assisting with equipment startup and commissioning.We need and value engineers who are willing to roll up their sleeves and work alongside technicians and field teams to get the job done.RequirementsWhat We're Looking For:Typical Experience: 5+ years in automation, controls, or systems integration.Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming and HMI developmentExperience integrating automation systems including controls hardware, networks, and data systemsProven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex automation projectsStrong troubleshooting and system-level problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and professionalism in customer-facing environmentsHigh level of ownership, accountability, and technical judgmentTravel Expectations:This position includes travel to support project implementation, commissioning, and customer support.Typical travel averages 30-50% throughout the year, depending on project assignments.Travel Support:We recognize that travel is part of delivering successful automation projects and strive to support our engineers while they are on the road.Per diem provided during travelFlexible scheduling and time arrangements may be used when project demands require extended hours or travel
