Purchasing Specialist
Job TitlePurchase supplies and equipment for the facility efficiently and cost-effectively, supporting and enhancing facility operations. Responsible for ensuring the stocking of incoming merchandise and delivery of merchandise to requesting department. Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pmKey ResponsibilitiesOrganizes central supply inventory and maintains par levels, including ensuring an adequate amount of supply is on hand in the event of emergency or disruption of supply chain and placing related orders.Identifies and implements cost-containment strategies related to central supply and other department ordering, including utilization of UHS preferred vendors under the GPO contract.Places approved purchase requisition orders.Key Physical RequirementsAbility to continuously walk and stand for duration of shift.Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, pull, lift objects from a lower to higher position or horizontally from position to position.Exertion of up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.BenefitsCareer development opportunities across UHS and our 300+ locations!
