Our mechanics play a critical role in keeping our fleet running safely and efficiently.Position OverviewThe Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing Birchwood Transport’s fleet in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This role includes routine maintenance, service work, and repairs on tractors, trailers, reefer units, and related equipment, ensuring all equipment meets Birchwood Transport and DOT standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform repairs and maintenance on fleet equipment in a timely and safe mannerConduct routine servicing and inspections of tractors, trailers, and reefer unitsEnsure all equipment meets Birchwood Transport specificationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaComplete required documentation and inspections accuratelyPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum 1 year of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair, or a combination of education and experienceDOT Certified in FHWA Inspections & Air Brakes (preferred)Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsBasic computer skills and comfort working with digital systemsMust provide own toolsStrong attention to safety and detailScheduleMonday–Friday: 2:30 PM to shift end (approximately 11:00 PM)Every other Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AMWhat We OfferCompetitive wagesFull benefits packageStable work with a well-established, family-owned companyA team-focused environment that values safety and quality👉 Interested candidates: Apply today and become part of a company that values experience, reliability, and long-term growth.
