The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Senior Professional Engineer – Water Modeler to support the planning, development, and optimisation of water and wastewater systems for one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States.Serving a population of over one million residents, the City’s water utility is focused on delivering reliable, sustainable, and forward-thinking infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in shaping long-term system performance by developing and maintaining hydraulic and hydrologic models that inform operational decisions and capital improvement planning.responsibilities.Develop, maintain, and calibrate hydraulic and hydrologic models for water and wastewater systemsEvaluate developer submittals to ensure system capacity aligns with current and future growth demandsPerform system-wide capacity analysis and contribute to long-term infrastructure planning strategiesUtilise modelling platforms such as InfoWater, WaterGEMS, and EPANET to analyse and optimise system performanceInterpret SCADA and flow monitoring data to validate models and troubleshoot system issuesSupport capital improvement planning, including decisions on pipe sizing, pump capacity, storage, and treatment expansionCollaborate across departments to deliver integrated and sustainable infrastructure solutionsContribute to major initiatives such as Water and Wastewater Master Plans and impact fee studiesPrepare technical reports and present findings to engineering teams, operations staff, and leadershipProvide technical expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders and external partnersqualifications.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related fieldLicensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with a minimum of three years post-licensure experience (including relevant field experience)Preferred experience with modelling software such as InfoWater, WaterGEMS, or EPANETPreferred six years of experience in the design, development, or operation of water/wastewater systemsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillssalary.$107,610 – $135,682 annuallyincentives.$9,000 sign-on incentive, with 50% paid after the first pay period and 50% after six months of employmentbenefits.11 paid holidaysApproximately three weeks of vacation plus sick leaveComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverageRobust pension planRecognised as a top workplace for working parentsOngoing professional development and career growth opportunitiesStable public-sector career pathStandard working hours Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pmPotential for remote work after one year of serviceIf you are looking to make a meaningful impact on a growing city’s water infrastructure while advancing your engineering career, apply today.The City of Fort Worth is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing an inclusive workplace.
