Role Description The Assistant Director of Special Education is a full-time, on-site role based in Denver, CO. This position involves overseeing special education programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, supporting staff in implementing individual education programs (IEPs), and fostering positive student outcomes. Key responsibilities include collaboration with educators, staff training, budget management, addressing parent concerns, and ensuring equitable access to special education resources. The ideal candidate will work closely with school leadership to support students with diverse learning needs in achieving their goals. Qualifications Thorough understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practicesSkills in staff training, collaboration, and leadershipExperience in program management, budgeting, and resource allocation for special education programsStrong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilitiesKeen ability to advocate for inclusive education and equity for students with disabilitiesMaster’s degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related fieldValid state education license with a Special Education endorsementPrevious experience as an educator or administrator in a special education setting
