EEG T. preferred Must-Have: Minimum of 3 years experience in EEG. Proficient in performing routine and STAT EEG procedures. Proficient in hooking up continuous video EEG procedures. Experience working with neonates, pediatrics, and adults. Experience monitoring continuous video EEG monitoring with the ability to identify abnormal EEG waveforms. Ability to escalate findings to a physician for immediate review. Experience working with elective EMU patients. Experience monitoring stereo EEGs preferred. Experience with critical care patients required. Description: The position is for a traveling EEG Tech. The role requires the ability to use critical thinking to provide the best care for each patient. Candidates will work closely with other departments and caregivers to perform tests at the patient's bedside. The EEG Tech must comfort the patient, explain procedures, address questions, and perform quality EEG recording. Responsibilities include performing all inpatient EEGs at the bedside. Experience with all age groups, including NICU, Pediatric, and adult populations, is essential. The department offers continuous video EEG monitoring and EEG services year-round. There are advanced skills required for identifying abnormal EEG waveforms and monitoring critical care patients. Individual must be familiar with collodion and paste application methods and placement of electrodes according to the 10/20 Electrode Measurement System. No on-call duties are expected. The department is staffed 24/7 with a mixture of experienced and newer technologists. Additional enticements include being a clinical site for an EEG training program and a working environment with newer technology.
