Locksmith

About the Role You'll join our locksmith and security team working on commercial and residential lock systems across San Diego County. This role is hands-on and detail-focused. You'll take the time to do each job right, follow established procedures, and keep accurate records of your work. We're looking for someone who works carefully and methodically, values precision over rushing, and takes pride in getting the technical details correct every time. What You'll Do Install, repair, rekey, and service locks, keyways, and access hardware for commercial and residential clients Duplicate keys and program transponder keys and key fobs Read work orders carefully and follow manufacturer specifications and company procedures Complete a work order and obtain customer signature for every job Record customer identification information on work orders as required by law Keep your locksmith license or registration current and carry it on every job Use a laptop, tablet, or smartphone to log job details, update work orders, and communicate with dispatch Keep your vehicle and tools organized and ready for the next job Communicate clearly with dispatch, your branch manager, and customers about job status and any complications Follow all safety protocols when working with tools, ladders, and vehicles What You'll Bring Valid California locksmith license, or ability to obtain one before your start date Valid California driver's license and clean driving record Ability to pass a DOJ and FBI background check, DMV and LiveScan fingerprinting Comfort using a laptop, tablet, and smartphone for job tracking, apps, and daily communication Comfort working independently and staying focused on detailed, precise work Willingness to follow documented procedures and checklists Mechanical aptitude; locksmith training or apprenticeship preferred Reliable transportation to and from job sites within San Diego County Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 50 lbs Stand, kneel, and work in varied positions for extended periods Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Use hand and power tools safely and accurately Why Opening Technologies We're a growing specialty construction company built on reputation, attitude, and persistence.
