This pivotal role involves overseeing the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mission-critical data center infrastructure. Working closely with the Chief Engineer, the Assistant Chief Engineer will ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the facility’s power, cooling, and network systems. This position requires a proactive leader capable of managing technical teams, responding swiftly to emergencies, and implementing best practices to uphold industry standards. The role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to the stability and performance of vital data center operations, supporting the company’s commitment to operational excellence and client satisfaction.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and industry certifications. Minimum requirements include at least 5 years of experience in data center operations and management, with a strong understanding of critical infrastructure components such as power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with industry standards like ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute guidelines. A valid certification such as Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Data Center Professional (DCPRO), or equivalent is required. Preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineer (PE) license, experience with energy efficiency initiatives, sustainable data center practices, and multi-site management experience. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and team leadership abilities are essential for success in this role.ResponsibilitiesAssist in managing and coordinating daily data center facility operations and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and uptime.Supervise and mentor technical staff, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Monitor and analyze critical system performance metrics related to power, cooling, and network infrastructure, identifying areas for enhancement.Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to prevent system failures and extend equipment lifespan.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety protocols, security measures, and regulatory standards.Participate in capacity planning, infrastructure upgrades, and project management initiatives to support business growth and technological advancements.Respond promptly to critical incidents and emergency situations, coordinating resolution efforts to minimize impact and downtime.Prepare comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and presentations for management and clients, ensuring transparency and accountability.BenefitsJLL offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, well-being, and growth of its employees.
