AMES is headquartered in Suwanee, Georgia and continues to grow its presence in key markets.Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Nashville, TN, supporting daily store operations and customer service for specialty finishing tools and equipment. This role assists in supervising team members, coordinating work schedules, and ensuring consistent adherence to company policies and safety standards. The Assistant Manager helps manage inventory, oversees merchandising, and supports rental and sales processes, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and basic reporting. The position works closely with customers to understand project needs, recommend appropriate tools and supplies, and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner. The Assistant Manager also contributes to local marketing efforts, supports training of new team members, and partners with the Store Manager to meet sales and operational goals.Qualifications Experience in retail or trade-focused store operations, including customer service, cash handling, and inventory management.Skills in team leadership and supervision, such as coaching, task delegation, and performance support.Ability to learn and apply knowledge of specialty finishing tools, equipment, and related safety practices.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers, colleagues, and vendors.Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems, inventory software, and standard office applications.Ability to work on-site in Nashville, TN, including standing for extended periods and performing light to moderate physical tasks (such as lifting and moving tools and equipment within reasonable limits).Organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and reliability in following procedures.Previous experience in hardware, construction, or specialty trades environments is beneficial; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
