Maintenance Controls Technician

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Maintenance Controls Technician for its Coachella, California facility. This position is responsible for supporting equipment reliability through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, controls improvement, and technical training of maintenance personnel. The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical controls knowledge, a hands-on approach to solving equipment issues, and the ability to work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams in a highly safety-focused environment.Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, repair, and support equipment electrical control and communication systems to improve uptime and reliabilityPerform preventive maintenance on production and facility electrical systems alongside the maintenance teamDiagnose and resolve issues involving AC power distribution, DC logic controls, HMIs, sensors, motors, drives, actuators, vision systems, and industrial communication networksRead and interpret wiring schematics, input and output diagrams, and control system documentation to support repairs and upgradesTrain Maintenance Mechanics on controls systems, troubleshooting practices, and equipment operationPartner with engineering to define requirements for new electrical systems, control system upgrades, and equipment improvementsBuild test beds and training tools to support equipment testing and maintenance team developmentDevelop and improve troubleshooting procedures, preventive maintenance documentation, and spare parts recommendationsCoordinate requisitions for necessary spare parts and tools while supporting internal teams with technical issuesMaintain flexibility to support production needs through extended hours or shift coverage as requiredRequirements:3+ years of experience working on electrical controls in manufacturingPLC and HMI experience required, Allen Bradley preferred Associates degree is a plus
