JOB TITLE: Fitter ILOCATION: Kalamazoo, MISTARTING RATE: $30.80Job SummaryRead blueprints, layout, tack and weld small and large components. Participate and support in improvement initiatives and projects.ResponsibilitiesPlans sequence of operation. Sets up jigs and fixtures. Be able to add, subtract, multiple numbers and fractions. Follow blueprints and other written and verbal specifications. Removes high spots and cuts bevels. Straightens warped or bent parts. Positions or tightens braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps, or bolts parts in positions for welding. Ability to interpret and follow Weld Procedure data sheets. Manipulate welding equipment to match parameters specified by the WPDS. Remove rust and mill scale from joints with wire brush, torch or grinder before finish welding. Perform air arc and out of position welding utilizing the FCAW process. Perform autonomous maintenance on all machines where applicable. Dependable and conducts work in a thorough and accurate manner. Work independently or in a team setting. Communicate effectively, professionally across all departments. Maintain a safe work environment and practices at all times for self and others. Actively participates in company initiatives such as process improvements, understand your impact on the company KPI’s, cost savings, 5S, etc. Stay abreast of communication, understand and act in accord with Getman Corporation’s standards of conduct, policies, and procedures. Timely communicate ideas and feedback using appropriate communication means. Contribute to Getman cultural vision including but not limited to working in a positive fashion with teammates and leadership, taking initiative, and having ownership of work. Maintain Appropriate Canadian Weld Bureau Certifications for the position. Failure to do so will result in pay decrease and possible discipline. Flexible, performs other duties as assigned.
