OverviewThe Ship/Terminal Checker I is responsible for recording cargo movement (discharge, loading and stowage on the vessel and load out and receiving of cargos though the terminal, to and from the customer carrier in a responsible, safe and efficient manner.QualificationsCandidate Requirements:Two-year (1) year of experience in customer service. Excellent written & communication in English (Spanish is a plus)High school diploma or equivalentMust have Driver’s License Must have a TWIC (Transportation Worker identification Credential)Dependable mode of transportation to and from workThe ability and willingness to work in a team environmentMust be willing to travel, as needed.Physical Requirements And Working ConditionsWork is 100% outdoorsCandidate will be exposed to weather conditions like heat, rain & cold on daily basis. And in some occasions will work in closed spaces (warehouse, vessel hatch, etc)Capable of walking, bending, stooping, climbing ladders up to 100ft high and have fast physical reactions (jump, move)Ability to work in a noisy environmentResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Count, inspect, sort, identify & record storage location of all cargo dischargin (or coming off a vessel)Count, insect, sort, identify & record stow location of all cargo stowed (or being loaded onto a vessel)Load / unload trucksMark & take dimension of cargoKeep written tallies and recordMaintain records with the use of electronic equipment (tablets & scanners.
