We are the leaders in our industry and have customers in all 50 states plus additional countries worldwide.What You'll Do...HindlePower is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Engineering Team and support the design, release, and sustainment of industrial battery chargers and DC power systems. This role is deeply integrated into our product development and manufacturing processes and is well-suited for someone who thrives in a hands-on, high-ownership engineering environment.You will work closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing, supply chain, and production to develop robust mechanical designs that move efficiently from concept through production and long-term support. This position supports both new product development and existing product platforms.In This Role, You WillDesign and release mechanical components and assemblies for industrial battery chargers and DC power systemsDevelop sheet metal enclosures, internal brackets, frames, and panels for power electronics productsDesign machined components for products and internal manufacturing equipmentOwn mechanical designs through concept, release, production support, and sustaining engineeringProduce and maintain accurate manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and documentationApply DFM principles throughout the design processCollaborate with suppliers to optimize cost, manufacturability, quality, and lead timeDesign fixtures and tooling to support manufacturing and automationParticipate in cross-functional design reviews and production meetingsSupport production with issue resolution, drawing clarifications, and corrective actionsContribute to documentation and support activities related to product certificationsActively contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the Mechanical TeamCandidates selected for an interview should be prepared to share a portfolio of relevant mechanical design work.What You Bring...Desired Experience & QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field5+ years of experience in a mechanical design role in a manufacturing or industrial environment2–3+ years of SOLIDWORKS experience, with strong emphasis on sheet metal design (CSWA cert. or greater a plus)Experience supporting products through full lifecycle: concept, release, production, sustainmentWorking knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturabilityAbility to work from engineering specifications and functional requirementsExperience with products requiring electrical, environmental, or seismic certification is a plusFamiliarity with electric switchgear or power electronics enclosures is a plusTools & SystemsSolidWorks, PDM, 3DExperience Platform2D CAD tools (DraftSight or similar)ERP systems (experience preferred)Microsoft Office SuiteA Few Things About Us...Our commitment to quality is evident in our highly skilled colleagues and our exceptional approach to customer service.
