Through programs like Full Count, Girls LEAD, Major League Citizens, and MLB/NIKE RBI, we serve youth across Multnomah County with a focus on leadership development, academic engagement, and long-term pathways.As we grow, Friends of Baseball is evolving into a hub for sports-based youth development, working alongside schools, cities, and community partners to expand access and impact across the region.Position OverviewFriends of Baseball is seeking a Development & Community Engagement Coordinator through the Coaches Across America Fellowship.This role is designed for an emerging leader who is passionate about youth development, coaching, and community impact, and who is interested in gaining experience in nonprofit development and partnerships.The Coordinator will split time between:Supporting fundraising and development effortsAssisting with community engagement and program supportContributing to storytelling and impact trackingThis is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both coaching and nonprofit development within a growing organization.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment SupportAssist in identifying grant and funding opportunitiesSupport proposal writing, reporting, and donor communicationsHelp maintain donor and partner tracking systemsContribute to fundraising campaigns and outreach effortsCommunity Engagement & ProgrammingSupport out-of-school time programming (Full Count, Girls LEAD, etc.)Serve as a coach and mentor to youth participantsAssist with community events, Play Ball activations, and clinicsHelp build relationships with families and community partnersStorytelling & ImpactCollect program data, photos, and participant storiesAssist with social media content and newslettersSupport impact reporting for funders and partnersQualificationsWe are looking for someone who:Is passionate about youth development and community impactHas experience or interest in coaching, mentoring, or working with youthIs a strong communicator and willing to learn fundraising and developmentIs organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple responsibilitiesBrings a growth mindset and willingness to take initiativeExperience in nonprofit development is a plus, but not required.What You’ll GainHands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising and developmentCoaching and leadership experience with youthExposure to partnerships with schools, cities, and major organizationsProfessional development and mentorship from organizational leadershipCompensationPosition funded through Coaches Across America FellowshipStipend and benefits determined by fellowship structureWhy This Role MattersThis role supports both the program and sustainability of Friends of Baseball by helping expand access to youth while contributing to the funding and partnerships that make that work possible.
