Distinguished Engineer - Application Security
For our client, we are seeking a Distinguished Engineer - Application Security to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.This individual will shape application security architecture and strategy across modern platforms in a highly regulated healthcare environment. The role will partner closely with engineering, Developer Experience, and business stakeholders to embed secure development practices into day-to-day delivery. In addition, this leader will guide the use of security tooling, DevSecOps capabilities, and AI-enabled development approaches to strengthen enterprise risk management and technical resilience.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $175,100 – $334,750 annuallyResponsibilities Lead architectural direction for securing applications across platforms Develop and implement a comprehensive application security program Manage the application security tooling stack and its integration Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for security standards Chart strategy for integrating AI in application development Collaborate with Developer Experience on secure coding practices Bridge communication between technical teams and business stakeholdersQualifications 15+ years in technical roles influencing cross-functional teams 10+ years bridging technical work with business strategies 10+ years hands-on coding in multiple languages, including Java and Python 8+ years in application security at enterprise scale 5+ years defining technical strategy for DevSecOps programs Expertise in modern application security tools Experience integrating security into developer workflowsBenefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid time off Retirement savings options Wellness programs Resources supporting physical, emotional, and financial well-beingOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
