Estimator – High Voltage Electrical ConstructionLocation: Joplin, MO Industry: Power Delivery / High Voltage Electrical InfrastructureOverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing High Voltage Electrical team. This individual will play a key role in preparing competitive and accurate estimates for complex power delivery projects, including substations, transmission, distribution, and other utility infrastructure work.The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications, developing cost estimates, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, and supporting bid strategy efforts across a variety of high-voltage electrical projects.This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing organization delivering critical infrastructure projects across the utility and energy sectors.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for high voltage electrical construction projectsReview and interpret project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirementsPerform quantity take-offs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted workSolicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractorsAssist in developing competitive bid strategies aligned with company objectives and market conditionsAnalyze project risks, opportunities, and cost variables during the estimating processCollaborate closely with project managers, operations, procurement, and business development teamsSupport value engineering initiatives and identify cost-saving opportunitiesMaintain accurate estimating records, databases, and historical cost informationParticipate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as requiredEnsure estimates are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlinesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred1–5 years of estimating or construction experience within the utility, electrical, or infrastructure sectors preferredStrong understanding of high voltage electrical systems, including substations, transmission, and distribution infrastructureAbility to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and technical specificationsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software platformsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentPreferred ExperienceExperience estimating utility-scale electrical or EPC projectsFamiliarity with utility standards, material procurement, and subcontractor coordinationExposure to Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Accubid, InEight, or similar estimating/project toolsKnowledge of labor productivity, equipment pricing, and construction sequencing within the power delivery marketWhy JoinOpportunity to work on large-scale, critical power infrastructure projectsJoin a growing team within the rapidly expanding Power Delivery marketCareer progression and long-term development opportunitiesCompetitive compensation, benefits, and performance incentivesExposure to complex transmission, distribution, and substation projects supporting grid modernization and energy growth
