Position Type:Elementary School TeachingDate Posted:4/10/2026Location:Delores Moye SchoolDate Available:August 2026Closing Date:Until filledDistrict:O'Fallon Community Consolidated School District 90POSITION: Behavior InterventionistJob Summary: The Behavior Interventionist designs, implements, and supports evidence-based behavioral interventions to reduce challenging behaviors and increase positive, pro-social behaviors for students across school settings. This position provides direct support to students and serves as a coach and consultant to staff, promoting the consistent use of research-based behavior management strategies aligned with district initiatives and student IEPs.Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS I or LBS II endorsement.Master's degree in Education or related field preferred.Training and/or experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), behavior intervention, autism, special education, and/or social work/counseling preferred.Knowledge and experience with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).Knowledge of multiple disability categories.Familiarity with school-based and community resources.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Highly dependable with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and professional staff.Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.Reports to: Special Education Coordinators and Assistant SuperintendentKey Responsibilities:Student Support & Data CollectionObserve students across settings and collect behavioral data to accurately assess concernsAnalyze data to identify behavioral patterns, triggers, and functions of behaviorProvide written summaries of observations, findings, and recommended interventions Behavior Planning & InterventionConsult with teachers and administrators on the development, implementation, and revision of FBAs and BIPsGenerate and share research-based strategies and interventions tailored to individual student needsModel intervention strategies in classrooms and other school settingsSupport the delivery of social skills instruction in collaboration with teachers and related service staff Collaboration & ConsultationMaintain an ongoing consultative relationship with teachers, administrators, and support staffProvide feedback, ideas, and recommendations to IEP teams as appropriateCollaborate effectively with IEP team members and participate in IEP meetings when requiredParticipate in and/or lead problem-solving meetings, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 PBIS teams Training & Professional DevelopmentProvide workshops, trainings, and presentations to district staff as neededEngage in ongoing professional learning to remain current with best practices in behavior interventionParticipate in program-specific training as directed by supervising administratorsRemain current with applicable licensure and certification requirements Compliance & District ResponsibilitiesAssist staff with SASS referrals and related documentation as neededAbide by all applicable federal and state laws, Illinois School Code, and District 90/BASSC policies and proceduresMaintain strict confidentiality regarding student records and informationComplete required documentation, schedules, attendance, and internal paperwork accurately and timely.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
