Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO)

Kachemak Medical Group is seeking a Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join our growing outpatientprimary care practice in Homer, Alaska. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who enjoyspracticing full-spectrum family medicine in a supportive, team-oriented clinic environment.Our practice provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, with the exception ofprenatal care. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare to the Homercommunity and the greater Kenai Peninsula.Homer offers an incredible lifestyle with world-class fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, and ocean views,making it one of Alaska’s most desirable coastal communities.Position Highlights• Outpatient primary care practice• Treat both adult and pediatric patients• Flexible scheduling (4 or 5 day work week)• No call requirements• Collaborative team environmentResponsibilities• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries• Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiac disease, and chronic lung conditions• Perform minor procedures including suturing and splinting/casting when appropriate• Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies• Perform preventive health exams and annual physicals• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle practices• Coordinate referrals to specialists when appropriate• Collaborate with advanced practice providers and clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentationQualifications• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine• Eligible for Alaska medical licensure prior to start date• Current DEA registration• BLS certification required• Experience in outpatient primary care preferredSchedule• Full-time (40 hours per week)• Option for five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts• No callCompensation• Competitive salary DOE• Bonus opportunities
