Machine Operator - Converting Department - 2nd Shift Location: City of Industry, CAShift: Monday - Friday, 3:30PM - 12:00AMPay Rate: $17.50hrFlexible Packaging Manufacturing Company is looking for hard working, motivated, responsible individuals who are looking for long term employment at a fast-paced work environment. This role will perform equipment set-up and adjustment on production equipment for converting plastic film into bags. This role will report to a shift lead and work cooperatively with other adjusters, operators, mechanics, QA personnel and others.Essential Duties:Running and overseeing the full functions of the converting machine process of product manufacturingRemove the bundles of the finished goods and place wickets (metal pins) and then pack product in carton boxes and label the boxes of finished merchandise.Consistently revises plastic bags as they are being manufactured for density, texture, resistance, correct size, print defects, and all other customer product specifications.Operator also makes minor machine adjustments like moving certain buttons to adjust the bag lip and also make adjustments to machine pins.Responsible to fill out required production worksheets and maintain work area clean by sweeping and picking up trash from the floor that is being produced by the machine.Position requires standing, walking side to side approximately a 4 foot radius, bending, pulling, and stretching occasionally with both handsLifting to 50lbsPositions Requirements:Must be bilingual: Spanish and English. Must be able to read and write in English.Minimum 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with machinery.Preferably experienced in the Flexible Packaging Industry.Must be able to work with all hand tools as needed.Read production orders and converting specifications, make minor mechanical adjustments on the POLYETHYLENE BAG MACHINES such as troubleshooting, adjust weak seals, sticking bags, zipper problems, tension control, punches and also quality control adjustments.Candidate should be able to lift and carry up to 55 lbs. individually.Position requires bending, stooping, pooling, reaching overhead, heavy manual work, standing and walking.
