Procurement Business Partners work alongside business leaders to translate demand into compliant, value-driven procurement outcomes—enabling better decisions early, transparently, and with clear accountability.The Procurement Business Partner – Indirect Materials serves as the single, accountable procurement point of contact for assigned businesses, sites, or initiatives. The role combines procurement expertise with business acumen to shape demand, define sourcing strategies, manage supplier and contract outcomes, and ensure execution excellence across the full procurement lifecycle.Key Responsibilities – Strategic Business PartnershipAct as the single, accountable procurement interface for assigned business stakeholdersEngage early to shape demand, align expectations, and define sourcing and contracting pathwaysProvide pragmatic guidance aligned to business priorities, timelines, and risk toleranceCoordinate across SCM, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Sustainability, and other functionsDemand & Sourcing EnablementTranslate business demand into fit-for-purpose sourcing strategies aligned with SCM frameworksLead or coordinate RFx activities, supplier engagement, evaluation, and award recommendationsPrepare and conduct negotiations for medium to high purchasing volumesSupport indirect categories, local and regional initiatives, and site-level projectsSupplier & Contract ManagementManage supplier relationships to ensure performance and continuous improvementSupport and/or lead SOWs, contract extensions, renewals, and amendmentsEnsure compliant commercial agreements aligned with Siemens policiesSupport supplier qualification, evaluation, and developmentValue Creation & Cost OptimizationDeliver measurable savings, cost avoidance, and broader value (CNI / CNI+)Identify supplier-driven productivity and innovation opportunitiesTrack, document, and communicate value beyond price reductionsGovernance, Risk & ComplianceEnsure compliance with SCM policies, approval thresholds, and P2P standardsIdentify risks early and proactively manage mitigation actionsSupport audit readiness and transparent decision-makingDigital & Core CompetenciesLeverage digital and AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate insights and workflowsApply data-driven analysis to sourcing, supplier decisions, and negotiationsAdopt new technologies quickly to drive continuous improvementOperate as a strategic business partner delivering measurable valueRequired Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or similar from an accredited university5+ years of procurement experience5-8 years sourcing, negotiation, supplier management, and/or governance expertiseAdvanced Excel and PowerPoint skillsHands-on basic familiarity with digital and AI-enabled tools to including prompting and general useWillingness to travel up to 20%Proficiency in English both written and verbalLegally authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.PreferredExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsIndirect Materials or ServicesAbout Siemens:We are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
