HVAC/Refrigeration Service Technician
he HVAC & Refrigeration Service Technician plans and coordinates service activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
Supervises the installs of new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives, and inspects malfunctioning or damaged equipment to determine nature and scope of the problem.
Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine the source of the problem , and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
Provides on-site technical assistance for HVAC equipment to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Maintains records of performance reports.
Analyzes reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes, and recommends modifications to eliminate future problems.
Provides communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
Qualifications
EPA Type II or Universal License
3 to 5+ years technical experience in refrigeration, specifically with keeping walk-in coolers or freezers frozen
2 to 5+ years of management or supervisory experience
One year certificate from a college or technical school or related experience and/or training.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and understand refrigeration piping drawing.
Must be able to read electrical pictorial diagrams & ladder diagrams and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Skilled with MS Office, Internet, and Email.
Capable and willing to travel for service or installation activities.
Willing to travel on short notice.
Possess a valid Driver's License.
