NPI Engineer (New Product Introduction)

This role serves as the primary point of contact for cross-functional NPI projects, driving alignment across operations, engineering, quality, sourcing, and other key stakeholders to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and to Polaris’ safety and quality standards. The NPI Engineer oversees the full product introduction lifecycle integration to production. From feasibility assessment and pre-development through production launch, while managing timelines, budgets, and change control. This role also leads manufacturing readiness efforts, including design and validation reviews, PFMEA development, and pre-production builds, while applying structured problem-solving and continuous improvement practices to ensure robust, scalable manufacturing processes.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with operations and engineering leadership in the development of new productLeads communication and alignment across teamsManage execution timelines for predevelopment through start of productionTrack and manage project budgetOperate as site point of contact for new product cross-functional communicationsLead key components of initial manufacturing design and validation reviewsReview and assess product manufacturing feasibility and readinessLead development and validation of PFMEA’sConduct pre-production build assessmentsDevelop quotes and business cases for new product opportunityStrategic planning and oversight of new and current program developmentOwn change management for new and existing productManage and compile customer and stakeholder requirementsLead root cause investigation using structured problem-solving toolsOther duties as assignedRequirementsBS/MS in Engineering or other related field3-5+ years of experience in related fieldAbility and willingness to travel if requiredPreferred QualificationsExperience in technical specifications, ordering, run-off, installation and qualification of equipment/toolingLean manufacturing experienceBasic understanding of end-to-end business operations such as component tooling, validation loops, supply lead times, inventory management and ERP, quality control, outbound logisticsStrong experience in project management – plan, develop and executePMP training and certificationKey SkillsAbility to effectively influence and work in cooperation with cross-functional teamsStrong leadership and interpersonal skills – ability to work in a matrix organization and effectively lead without direct positional authorityStrong skills in Microsoft Office, Project, or other project management softwareStrong communication and presentation skills.Ability to identify and solve complex technical problemsExcellent creative thinking skillsDetail-oriented with strong analytical and time management skillsThe ability to establish clear, measurable goals and deliver on commitmentsReview product designs and drawingsDeep understanding of phase/gate product launch processesThe starting pay range for Washington is $81,000 to $107,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
