At AMH, our goal is to simplify the experience of leasing a home through professional management and maintenance support, so our residents can focus on what really matters to them, wherever they are in life.The Leasing Agent serves as the company's primary sales representative for prospective residents, responsible for driving occupancy through consultative selling, relationship building, and lease conversion. Responsibilities include establishing prospect rapport, identifying prospective resident needs, presenting compelling housing solutions, and closing leases.Responsibilities:Responds to and follows up on inbound and outbound inquiries to support occupancy goalsEngages with prospective residents through discovery conversations tailored to their needs and preferencesPresents available homes clearly and compellingly, addressing questions and navigating objections with confidenceManages a pipeline of prospects, maintaining timely follow-up to drive lease conversionsNegotiates lease offers, explains lease terms and related documentation in an approachable, transparent mannerPartners with internal teams to move applications smoothly through the leasing processMaintains up-to-date knowledge of inventory, pricing, market conditions, and company processesConducts all leasing activities in alignment with Fair Housing guidelines and applicable regulationsRequirements:High School diploma or GED equivalent requiredMinimum of three (3) years experience in sales or other customer-facing roles, with a focus on relationship building and results requiredA background in leasing, real estate, or property management is preferredActive state real estate license requiredStrong communication and listening skills, with the flexibility to adapt messaging to individual prospectsComfortable negotiating terms, building rapport, and guiding conversations with confidenceThe capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with common business tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookProfessional discretion and a collaborative approach to working with internal partnersA performance-driven sales role with a guaranteed monthly bonus.CompensationThe anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $25.00 hourly. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.Additional CompensationThis position is eligible to receive monthly bonus payments.Perks and BenefitsEmployees have the opportunity to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts and/or health savings accounts; dependent savings accounts; 401(k) with company matching contributions; employee stock purchase plan; and a tuition reimbursement program.
