Fishline Salesclerk – Job DescriptionLocation: Pensacola, FL Company: Joe Patti's SeafoodPosition Summary A Fishline Salesclerk works directly with customers in a high-volume, fast-paced seafood market , assisting with seafood selection, preparation, and order fulfillment. The role requires strong customer service skills, product knowledge, and the ability to handle fresh seafood safely and efficiently.Joe Patti's is known as a busy, large-scale seafood destination with extensive fresh inventory and constant customer flow , so clerks must be quick, attentive, and comfortable working on their feet all day.Key Responsibilities Customer Service Greet customers and take orders using a number-based service systemRecommend seafood items (fish, shrimp, crab, etc.) based on customer needsAnswer questions about freshness, sourcing, and cooking methodsProvide a friendly, efficient experience even during peak crowdsSeafood Handling & PreparationWeigh, package, and label seafood orders accuratelyMaintain proper sanitation and food safety standardsHandle raw seafood and ice throughout the shiftSales Floor OperationsMonitor inventory and communicate low-stock itemsKeep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with health standardsWork closely with team members to move lines quicklyWork EnvironmentFast-paced, high-volume retail seafood marketWet, cold environment (ice, seafood handling)Long periods of standing and repetitive motionWeekend and holiday shifts requiredQualificationsNo formal education required; seafood or retail experience preferredStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to multitask under pressurePhysical stamina (lifting, standing, working in cold/wet conditions)Must be able to lift ~50 LBsWilling to help train all new hiresPossible Tuna cuts / with the proper trainingIdeal CandidateWorks well in a busy, team-oriented environmentComfortable interacting with large numbers of customersDetail-oriented with food handling and order accuracyWilling to learn seafood varieties and preparation techniques
