Foreman I

The Foreman is responsible for ensuring that everything goes smoothly at a construction site. They are responsible for being the point of contact between the laborers and superintendent.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all sites at all timesDevelop work schedules in accordance with the availability of employees, contractors and labor laws and monitor the personnelReport project status to superiors, site engineers and officials regularlyBe the liaison between track laborers and superintendentsResolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site quickly and amicablyAbility to delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the crew and contractorsJob RequirementsMust be 18 years of age or olderPrevious experience as a construction superintendent in heavy civil industryKnowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sitesMust have a great attitude and the ability to motivate team members on siteIn-depth understanding of construction operations and processesUnderstanding of use and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systemsAbility to communicate and report effectivelyAccountability and integrity are essential as the decisions made in the role affect countless othersWilling to work in the elements in all weather conditions (extreme hot, cold, rain, snow, sleet, etc.)Recognize, avoid, and report potential hazardsMust pass all required assessments/trainingsWilling and able to travel to various job sites, including those that require overnight stay and those that require short notice mobilizationAvailable to work full-time (40hrs/wk.) subject to overtime, on-call (24/7), alternating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidaysAmerican Track is a drug-free Company, employees are subject to pre-employment and random drug testsHigh school diploma or certification in a skilled trade a plusFluent in English; Spanish a plusPHYSICAL DEMANDS
