Fabrication Estimator (Phoenix)

Seeking an experienced Shop Fabrication Estimator with a strong background in piping fabrication estimates. This is the higher-priority opening. The ideal candidate will have hands-on estimating experience within a fabrication shop environment and understand the labor, materials, equipment, and production considerations involved in piping fabrication.This person will be responsible for reviewing bid documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for fabricated piping work.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed estimates for shop-fabricated piping projects.Review drawings, specifications, scope documents, and bid packages.Perform quantity takeoffs for piping materials, fittings, supports, valves, and related components.Estimate labor hours, material costs, shop fabrication time, equipment needs, and subcontractor/vendor pricing.Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate material pricing and lead times.Work closely with project managers, shop leadership, operations, and procurement teams.Identify scope gaps, exclusions, clarifications, and potential risks during the estimating process.Assist with proposal preparation and bid submissions.Maintain accurate estimating documentation and support handoff to project management after award.Help evaluate cost-saving options, fabrication efficiencies, and value-engineering opportunities.Ideal BackgroundPrior estimating experience in a shop fabrication environment.Strong experience estimating piping fabrication work.Understanding of piping materials, weld procedures, spool fabrication, fittings, supports, and fabrication labor.Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, isometrics, specifications, and related project documents.Experience with industrial, mechanical, process piping, or similar fabrication projects is preferred.Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate estimates under deadlines.Comfortable coordinating with vendors, suppliers, internal teams, and project stakeholders.Preferred QualificationsExperience with mechanical contractors, piping fabricators, industrial contractors, or fabrication shops.Familiarity with estimating software, takeoff tools, ERP systems, or fabrication management software.Knowledge of material pricing, labor productivity, fabrication sequencing, and shop capacity planning.Strong communication and organizational skills.
