Driver/Shipper

Duties and Responsibilities · Receiving daily lists of deliveries and paperwork · Verifying that all parts are on the truck, all necessary paperwork is included, and there is nothing extra on the truck · Performing a vehicle inspection prior to loading, and a load inspection after loading, ensuring that quality is maintained enroute · Loading IGH trucks with products, distributing weight, covering and strapping as necessary for safe and lawful delivery · Ensuring that truck plates/registration are current and up to date · Returning all signed delivery and other receipts to the Shipping Coordinator as soon as possible · Returning vehicles to the shop full of fuel and clean · Notifying Shipping Coordinator of any vehicle needs/repairs · Maintaining a valid license and other records as necessary · Notifying Shipping Specialist when shipping supplies is low · Keeping warehouse clean and organized · Keeping parking lot clean and free of obstructions for trucks · Routing completed job travelers, delivery receipts, outside carrier receipts and other paperwork to Shipping Coordinator · Notifying Shipping Specialist of any circumstances that could result in a failure to meet due dates · Participating in all scheduled safety meetings and following IOSHA guidelines · Completing quality control visual inspection training and forklift operations training · Other duties as assigned by management · Assist Shipping Team with: o Receiving job travelers with parts ready to ship, taking note of any special handling instructions o Inspecting all parts rejecting, marking and segregating all non-conforming material and/or incorrect parts, notifying Shipping Specialist of any issues o Checking part counts against job travelers and notifying Shipping Specialist of any discrepancies, moving extra parts to scrap if there are no other open orders for them o Wrapping, skidding, and banding parts as necessary to protect them from moisture and shifting, and to maintain appropriate load limits, marking with customer name, customer purchase order number, job traveler number and delivery date o Staging completed parts by customer/delivery date o Receiving parts back from outsource and routing to quality control area, notifying Shipping Coordinator to receive in E2 and attaching paperwork with job traveler to parts Required Skills/Abilities · Ability to interpret blueprints · Attention to detail. Strong time management and organizational skills. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. (Orders are built to contain customization based on customer requests.) · Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal supervision. · Regular and reliable attendance · Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization Education · High school diploma or GED. · General knowledge of steel fabrication · Computer/Technology skills are required · Willingness to learn new skills and programs Work Environment · Employee will frequently be exposed to work near moving machinery and mechanical parts. · Requires frequent standing and walking for up to 10 hours per day. · Must be able to lift up to , but not limited to, 50lbs without restrictions.
