Java Full Stack Developer-Software Engineer II

Overview In this role, you will design and build backend services and AI-enabled platforms as part of Deloitte’s AI & Systems Co-Design team. You’ll work on scalable Java-based systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact, production-ready solutions for global clients. This is a client-facing consulting position under the Project Delivery Model, focused on transformation and operational excellence. You’ll shape architectures, optimize performance, and contribute to cutting-edge AI and hardware-software initiatives. ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, MongoDB, and MSSQLDevelop scalable APIs and event-driven components for market technology applicationsWrite multithreaded Java code and troubleshoot performance, concurrency, and reliability issuesCreate and optimize MSSQL and MongoDB queries and data access patternsSupport Kafka-based integration and event-processing workflowsCollaborate with product, architecture, QA, and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable solutionsParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, sprint ceremonies, and production supportIdentify root causes of defects and improve stability and maintainabilityFollow engineering best practices for coding, testing, deployment, and documentationCommunicate with engagement managers and cross-functional teams, escalating issues as neededLead client engagement workstreams focused on process improvement, optimization, and transformation Key requirements3+ years of experience in software, systems, or embedded engineering3+ years Java/J2EE, Core Java, and multithreading3+ years developing or deploying AI solutions, custom hardware, or high-performance platforms3+ years with SpringbootStrong MSSQL expertise (complex queries, stored procedures)Intermediate experience with Kafka or other event-driven messagingExperience building backend services in scalable enterprise environmentsExperience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practicesExperience working in Agile/Scrum teamsBachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related IT discipline; or equivalent experienceAbility to travel ~10%Limited immigration sponsorship may be availableEffective written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and in a teamAttention to detail and quality of workJava/J2EESpring BootKafka
