Chicago Debates Program Associate
Chicago Debates seeks a mission-driven, engaging, and service-oriented candidate with a demonstrated passion for education to join our team. The Full-Time Program Associate will help achieve our mission of advancing the educational achievement, community contributions, and life success of Chicago's youth through the transformative power of academic debate. The Program Associate will work in collaboration with other program staff members and report to the Senior Program Manager. This role includes full ownership of the entire debate tournament or scrimmage, including its preparation, execution, and debrief process. representing our values in all aspects of your work.Further help on this page can be found by clicking here .Member Duties : School Support: Support a portfolio of CPS schools — site visits in person and virtual to onboard and train teacher and community coaches (8–10 hrs/week, Sept–April), ongoing check-ins by Google Meet, email, phone, and text, and partnership with principals and assistant principals. Record Keeping: Document coach support in Technical Support Forms, report service hours on time, run program surveys, and help track outcomes. Tournament Management: Own tournament prep, execution, and debrief as Tournament Director, Tab Director, or Designated Judge, including transporting supplies up to 50 lbs. Coordinate judges, tab directors, and judge captains with the Volunteer Manager. Program Operations: Deliver programming that upholds our values, support student incentives and materials, and contribute to program planning. Community Engagement: Represent Chicago Debates at sponsor events at law firms and corporations, and help deliver public and recognition events.
