Job TitleElectrical Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionIn this position, you will:Perform a wide variety of assignments in connection with the maintenance of the electrical distribution system, which consists of voltages from 24 volts to 600 volts AC and the DC electrical distribution system.Maintain motor control systems, variable voltage, variable frequency (VVVF) drives, integrated lighting systems and controls.Utilize and apply National Electric Code (NEC) regulations to all maintenance and installation tasks.Plan work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, manufacturer's instructions, or other specifications, and oral or written instructions, performing preventative maintenance on a variety of electrical equipment incidental to the NIST Boulder Site.Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and repair of a variety of electrical equipment such as fan motors, transformers, pumps, air-conditioning and heating equipment, external and internal building lighting systems, distribution panels, and connections for computer equipment, and lab equipment.Assist with site snow removal during winter operations which can include operating snow blowers, plows, heavy equipment and shovels to clear site walkways, parking lots and building entrances. Snow removal duties can be assigned out of hours or during normal business hours as the weather events occur.
