This role focuses on general maintenance activities rather than licensed trade work and plays a key part in keeping accommodations, common areas, and support buildings safe, functional, and presentable.The work may include repairs, painting, grounds maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and support to other maintenance and operations teams. Experience maintaining commercial kitchen equipment is considered a strong asset.Reporting to the Facility Manager, the General Maintenance Technician works hands‑on across the site to address maintenance needs promptly and professionally.YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDEPerforming general maintenance and minor repairs, including:Painting and surface touch‑upsDrywall patching and minor carpentryReplacing light fixtures, bulbs, and filtersAdjusting doors, locks, hinges, and hardwareSupporting grounds maintenance, including cleanup, landscaping, and seasonal tasks such as vegetation control and lease maintenance.Assisting with inspection and upkeep of buildings and common areasTroubleshooting and performing minor repairs on equipment and appliancesSupporting maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers) under directionCompleting basic preventative maintenance tasks and checklistsReporting larger repair needs or safety concerns to the Maintenance SupervisorMaintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environmentUsing hand and power tools safely and appropriatelyAssisting other trades or contractors as requiredQualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities support, or building upkeep preferredPractical experience with repairs, painting, and grounds maintenanceExperience maintaining or troubleshooting commercial kitchen equipment is an assetComfortable using hand tools and basic power toolsAbility to work independently and manage daily maintenance tasksStrong attention to detail and safety awarenessPhysically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35–50 poundsWillingness to follow all safety procedures and site policiesAdditional InformationDexterra is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
