Job Title: Financial Systems AccountantPosition Overview: We are seeking a highly collaborative and adaptable Financial Systems Accountant to support, optimize, and enhance our financial systems and accounting processes. This role sits at the intersection of accounting and technology, playing a critical part in troubleshooting system issues, supporting system implementations, and ensuring the accounting team can operate efficiently. No two days are the same—this position requires a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working across teams.Key Responsibilities:· Serve as the primary liaison between the accounting team and IT/financial systems teams· Serve as the primary support contact between customers, trading partners, and software partners to onboard new EDI connections, monitor transactions and troubleshoot errors· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to financial systems, including ERP platforms and reporting tools· Support and participate in financial system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, with a focus on maintaining data integrity and proper accounting treatment· Assist with system configurations and testing· Provide day-to-day support to the accounting, sales and buying teams, including resolving system-related questions and improving workflows· Develop and maintain accounting-focused system documentation, including process flows, control narratives, and user procedures· Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance system efficiency· Support month-end and year-end close processes as needed, particularly where systems are involved· Train and support end-users on financial systems functionality and best practicesQualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field· 3+ years of accounting experience with exposure to financial systems or ERP platforms· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes· Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and process-related issues· Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesPreferred Qualifications:· Experience with system implementations or upgrades· Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel advanced functions, Power BI, or similar)· Familiarity with internal controls and audit processesKey Competencies:· Collaboration and teamwork· Adaptability and flexibility· Analytical thinking and problem-solving· Initiative and continuous improvement mindset· Strong customer service orientationWhy This Role: This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys blending accounting expertise with systems and process improvement.
