Controller
Company Description Our manufacturing client is seeking a Corporate Controller to own its accounting and finance function. Reporting directly to the CEO and leading a team of five, this individual will own general ledger accounting, job costing, and cash flow forecasting for a project-based manufacturing operation, while managing the company's lending relationship. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to ownership and influence over financial strategy. The ideal candidate must have experience in a manufacturing environment and prior experience leading and developing an accounting team. Key Highlights Influence long-term strategic decisions Casual work environment Direct access to CEO and ownership Responsibilities Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, serving as a hands‐on people leader Oversee general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions Manage project‐based costing, including estimates, labor and machine rates, and adjustments driven by scope changes Own cash flow forecasting to support day‐to‐day and project‐based operations Serve as primary liaison to the company's lending partner, maintaining compliance with credit facility covenants and reporting requirements Drive improvements in collections and billing efficiency to strengthen cash conversion Develop and maintain financial reporting packages and KPIs to provide leadership visibility into performance and trends Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure audit readiness Manage sales and use tax compliance and coordinate the annual external audit and tax engagement Assess financial risks related to supply chain and sourcing exposure, partnering with operations to mitigate impact Negotiate vendor and supplier terms to optimize payment timing relative to revenue cycles Partner cross‐functionally with operations and other departments to align financial systems with business needs Identify and lead process improvement and cost‐reduction initiatives across the finance function Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree Experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Demonstrated leadership experience within an accounting organization is required. CPA license is highly desired. Knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results #J-18808-Ljbffr
