Job Title: Embedded Engineer - Cyber securityLocation : Auburn Hills, MIJob Type: Full - TimePosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Embedded Cybersecurity Engineer with strong expertise in automotive embedded software development and cybersecurity implementation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in secure embedded systems, AUTOSAR, diagnostics, secure boot/flash, and automotive communication protocols.This role involves developing and integrating cybersecurity solutions for automotive ECUs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and functional reliability requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain embedded software for automotive applications with a strong cybersecurity focusImplement and integrate cybersecurity features including Secure Boot, Secure Flash, authentication, encryption, and diagnostics securityDevelop and integrate cybersecurity stacks within AUTOSAR-based embedded systemsWork on ECU-level software architecture, embedded platforms, and RTOS-based applicationsDevelop software in C/Embedded C for microcontroller-based systemsIntegrate and validate communication interfaces including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, SPI, and I2CSupport HSM implementation and SHE+ security mechanismsAnalyze cybersecurity requirements and translate formal specifications into executable software solutionsConduct debugging, testing, and validation using tools such as CANoe, compilers, and debuggersEnsure software compliance with MISRA C guidelines and automotive quality standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, validation, and cybersecurity stakeholdersSupport cybersecurity assessments, threat analysis, and risk mitigation activitiesContribute to software quality, reliability, and performance optimizationMandatory Skills & Qualifications7+ years of experience in Automotive Embedded Software DevelopmentStrong experience in Embedded Cybersecurity development and integrationExcellent programming skills in C and Embedded CHands-on experience with RTOS-based embedded systemsStrong understanding of Automotive Embedded Hardware and Software ArchitecturesExperience with communication protocols:CANLINEthernetSPII2CHands-on experience in:DiagnosticsSecure BootSecure FlashCybersecurity stack integrationExperience with Embedded AUTOSARFamiliarity with automotive cybersecurity standards:ISO 21434SAE J3061Knowledge of HSM implementation and SHE+Experience with CANoe, compilers, and debugging toolsStrong understanding of MISRA C guidelinesExcellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsGood to HaveKnowledge of ASPICE processExperience with automotive security and cryptography conceptsIndustry cybersecurity certifications such as Certified Automotive Cybersecurity Professional (CASP)Experience handling automotive-specific cybersecurity challengesExposure to software testing and validation methodologies
