HR Operations Lead/Manager (Interim)Location: Mountain View, CA (Onsite)3 Months+ ContractRole SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and highly technical Interim HR Operations & Compensation Lead. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficiency, compliance, and alignment of HR operational processes, systems, and programs during a critical transition period. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep, specialized expertise in Workday compensation architecture, Radford job coding, and HR compliance. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our compensation data is accurately mapped, integrated, and maintained within Workday.Key ResponsibilitiesCompensation Architecture & AdministrationLead the integration of compensation grade data into Workday, ensuring alignment with the company's broader compensation philosophy and job architecture.Perform advanced Radford job matching and coding; utilize the Radford platform not just to pull data, but to perform complex benchmarking and structural analysis.Manage the administration of compensation changes within Workday, reviewing and approving compensation for new hires, promotions, job changes, and one-time payments.Conduct advanced data analysis and modeling (using advanced Excel/Google Sheets functions) for various complex compensation projects and integrations.HR Systems and Technology ManagementPartner with the HRIS team to maintain, optimize, and build out Workday functionality, specifically within the Compensation and Core HCM modules.Understand the downstream impacts of various Workday modules to oversee business process implementations across Recruiting, Compensation, HCM, and Talent.Drive the HR systems workstream for a subsidiary integration into Workday, planning and tracking the implementation timeline and mapping legacy data to new structures.Ensure data integrity, system security, and accurate mapping as new processes and compensation grades are implemented into Workday.Process Optimization and ComplianceAssist us in continuing HR operational workflows to drive efficiency, scalability, and an improved employee experience.Ensure all HR operational processes (e.g., onboarding, offboarding, compensation structures) comply with federal, state, and local regulations.Compensation AdministrationManage the administration of compensation changes within Workday per the company's compensation philosophy. Reviewing & approving compensation for new hires, promotions, job changes, and one-time payments.Experience with Radford job matching/code and compensation grade integration.Can pull reports and conduct VLOOKUP analysis for various compensation projects.QualificationsRequired ExperienceMinimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a dedicated HR Operations or Compensation Systems leadership role.Deep, hands-on expertise in Workday (specifically the Compensation module) and Radford is strictly required. You must have proven experience integrating Radford benchmark data and coding directly into Workday compensation grades.Demonstrated expertise in HR process design, job architecture, and compensation modeling.In-depth knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR best practices. Global experience is a plus.Advanced proficiency in Google Suite (Drive, Email, Docs, Sheets) and advanced spreadsheet functions for data manipulation.Education and SkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, CCP) is highly preferred.Exceptional project management and organizational skills.Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate raw compensation data into actionable insights and system architecture.
