Electrical Estimator
Job Title: Electrical Estimator/Project Manager Job Summary:A colleage of mine is seeking ans Electrical Estimator/Project Manager to join their team. This hybrid role combines expertise in preparing accurate cost estimates with the leadership skills to manage electrical projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to oversee project execution while ensuring budget, schedule, and quality objectives are met. Key Responsibilities: Estimating Duties:• Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems.• Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs, factoring in market rates and project scope.• Obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate them for accuracy and compliance.• Prepare bid proposals, including scope of work, exclusions, and clarifications.• Provide value-engineering recommendations to optimize project costs without compromising quality. Project Management Duties:• Plan, schedule, and coordinate all phases of assigned electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.• Monitor project progress, manage change orders, and address any issues or risks proactively.• Oversee procurement of materials and coordination with vendors to meet project timelines.• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and industry regulations.• Conduct regular site visits to monitor work quality and ensure alignment with project specifications.• Manage project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and financial reports. Qualifications:• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, Project Manager, or similar role in the construction or electrical industry.• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and project management principles.• Proficiency in estimation and project management software (e.g., Accubid / McCormick, PlanGrid, Procore, or similar).• Ability to use AutoCad, AutoDesk, or similar.• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents including NEC.• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong client and team relationships.• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).• Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
