Works directly with students assisting in one -on-one, small group, and classroom settings. Supports the Program's objectives and initiatives as directed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDirectly supervises Nursing program tutoring sessions while adhering to College policies and Departmental proceduresRecognizes and responds appropriately to the learning needs of a diverse student populationRespond to student request for overall nursing program learning assistance on an as needed basisEnsures that the lab provides a safe learning environmentAssists in the development of educational action plansAssists with individual and/or small group tutoring sessionsWorks with and/or demonstrates various types of audio-visual materials, computer applications, and other materials or delivery systems used in an instructional programAssists in the retention of program studentsMay supervise Work-Study students and Student AssistantsConsults with faculty as neededPerforms other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAININGMaster's or Bachelor's degree in NursingCompletion of a state board of nursing approved professional nursing education programCurrent active unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in OhioMinimum of two years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse:Specialty practice experience is required for some positions including but not limited to obstetrics, pediatrics, and psychiatric/behavioral healthKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIESPossess working knowledge of Nursing concepts with the ability to apply in various situationsDemonstrated knowledge of exemplary instructional methods and practicesPossess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to foster a team environment and work collaborativelyDemonstrated commitment to providing exemplary customer serviceIntermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointProficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction and evaluationAbility to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends to accommodate students' needsAbility to understand and embrace the mission of the community collegePossess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse populationCOMPETENCIESCRITICAL COMPETENCIESService FocusCommunicationQuality of WorkVERY IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES* Time Utilization* CollaborationIMPORTANT COMPETENCIES* Adaptability* Continuous ImprovementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING* Demonstrated teaching/tutoring experiencePHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS(The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
