Host/ Server Assistant

These individuals have the ability to influence the overall restaurant experience by their interactions that include providing table accommodations and offering menu recommendations. Greeters may be the final point of contact and have the ability to ensure guest satisfaction. If you have worked as a restaurant host or restaurant hostess, your skills are invaluable to the position of Greeter at Hyatt. Your restaurant job experience will give you the tools to be successful as a restaurant Greeter at Hyatt. Essential job Functions:Plans and coordinates timely seating of guestsGreets incoming guestsTakes reservations in person and over the phone, using professional language at all timesClears and resets tables according to specifications of restaurant standardsAdheres to steps of service using the service standards manualEnsures tables are pre-bussed throughout shiftRemoves plates and silverware from table as guests are finishedEnsures silverware is polished and china and glassware is not chippedWorks diligently to avoid breakage and lossKeeps refillable beverages always fullNotifies server when brining coffee, tea or other beverages to tables to ensure proper chargesCompletes all opening, on-going and closing side work and manager on duty as signed off on workStocks/restocks appropriate linensStocks/restocks work stations with appropriate glasses, plates and saucersInforms server of any potential guest issuesRemoves dishes, glasses, silverware or other item from tables and countertops and takes them to the kitchen for proper sanitationProvides general resort information for guestsOffers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Wild Dunes Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guestMaintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special eventsInteracts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary informationUp sells other resort services and amenities to guestsFamiliarizes him/herself with all menusJob Requirements:Must be authorized to work in the United StatesMust be at least 16 years of ageMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishMust be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and writtenMust possesses excellent communication skillsMust be professional in appearance and demeanorMust be able to work under pressureMust be able to work in a fast-paced environmentMust have excellent listening skillsMust always ensure a teamwork environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidaysMust have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and ColleaguesMust have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful mannerMust have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guestsColleagues who are hired at Wild Dunes Resort will be verified through the federal E-Verify system.Working Conditions:Must be able to stand and walk throughout the shiftMust be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height; and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 75 lbsMust be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; and squeezing occasionally Hyatt associates work in an environment that demands exceptional performance yet reaps great rewards.
