This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working in a dynamic outpatient environment, supporting diagnostic and interventional procedures while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.The Outpatient Radiology Nurse provides comprehensive nursing support within radiology settings, ensuring safe, efficient care and a positive patient experience. This role supports a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures, coordinates communication among multidisciplinary care teams, and plays a key role in patient education, safety, and comfort.The nurse works both independently and collaboratively across multiple imaging modalities and locations, using sound clinical judgment to support high-quality clinical outcomes.Detailed ResponsibilitiesRequires the ability to work independently often, as well as be a contributing member of the healthcare team.Requires assisting in general diagnostic, special procedures, ultrasound, CT, PET, MR, Nuclear Medicine and mammography procedures.Contacts patients to obtain necessary pertinent information/medical history for upcoming appointments.Facilitates communication between patient, radiologists and other healthcare providers for assigned patients.Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and diminish patient apprehension.Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols.Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.Observes patient, obtains/monitors vital signs, records significant findings and notifies appropriate chain of command of patient's condition, deviations from normal, reaction to drugs, response to treatments and significant incidents.Responds to urgent/emergent/life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols.Documents all patient information in appropriate areas of medical record.Helps positively promote/market the services provided by the company to patients and healthcare providers.Requires flexibility to work at multiple locations.Other duties may be assigned.Among the many benefits of a career with Southwest Medical Imaging, are the following:Medical, Dental & Vision CoverageHealth Savings Accounts (HSA-available if enrolled in a high-deductible plan)Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts (DCRA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP available if enrolled in Health plan)401(k) retirement planPaid Time Off (PTO)Company Paid Basic Life & AD&D InsuranceVoluntary Life InsuranceVoluntary Short DisabilityCompany Paid Long-Term DisabilityPet Discount Program6 paid Company HolidaysFloating Holiday, Jury Duty & Bereavement LeaveTuition ReimbursementCompetitive SalaryLeadership Mentoring OpportunitiesRequirementsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree (B.S.) preferred, or Associate's degree (A.
