Responsibilities Safely operate different types of waste collection trucks, including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump truck, tractor-trailer, and flatbed trucks. Load and unload waste materials efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Drive commercial vehicles with manual transmissions across designated routes to collect waste from residential or commercial sites. Perform heavy lifting tasks regularly to handle bulky or heavy debris safely. Inspect trucks before and after routes to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly. Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during driving and collection activities. Assist with the maintenance of collection equipment and trucks to ensure optimal performance. Skills Mechanical knowledge of various waste collection trucks and related equipment. Proven experience operating front loader, rear loader, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or flatbeds is highly desirable. Strong driving skills with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), especially with experience in manual transmission vehicles. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in outdoor conditions. Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices for commercial vehicles. Delivery driver experience or familiarity with route navigation is a plus. Good physical stamina to handle manual loads and long shifts outdoors.
