Civil Construction Engineer (Forensics)

Come join our growing team! www.SEAlimited.com.Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:Analyze and evaluate construction failures, defects and other issues in completed construction projects, including evaluation of design and construction means, methods, and specificationsReview contract and sub-contracts for evaluation of scope, specifications, and work-product complianceAnalyze construction defect issues in buildings and other infrastructure systems by conducting site visits and applying construction and engineering principles and practices in accordance with codes and industry standardsReview construction documents and work change ordersConduct unbiased construction defect investigations for various types of clientsProvide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in writingResponsible for development and retention of clientsSupport conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedingsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societiesPosition Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction EngineeringFour years of civil/structural and/or construction engineering experienceTwo years Construction project inspection experience preferredFamiliarity with construction claims a plusP.E. registrationExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to accept and integrate constructive feedbackPhysical Requirements:Ability to travel overnight 20% of the timeAbility to maneuver in and around an construction siteAbility to climb a ladder and maneuver within and on buildings and structuresAbility to lift 50Ability to drive to site locations in all conditionsAbility to travel by airlineAbility to effectively communicate with clients and colleaguesAbility to wear personal protective equipment as requiredBenefits:Extensive forensic trainingMedical coverageDental & vision coverage401(k) with company matchPaid vacation, sick days and holidaysCompany-paid STD, LTD and life insuranceTuition Reimbursement ProgramBonus ProgramSEA places a strong value and priority on diversity, equity and inclusion across the company.
