Creditable job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a 9 months for 9 months basis. Ability to read and interpret instructions and to perform simple calculations used in food preparation.If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.Major DutiesOperates a variety of kitchen equipment, such as an oven, grill, deep-fat fryer, or other, in a situation where set procedures are followed, where cooking skills are minimized and where operations performed are repetitive.Takes customers food selection orders by listening to needs, offering suggestions and thanking customers for their business. Demonstrates knowledge by making recommendations of new food items.Assembles sandwiches and other food products.Participates, along with supervisors/management staff, in the establishment and achievement of service and sales goals for the food activity. Assists in ensuring optimum stock availability by taking periodic stock counts, advising management staff of slow-moving, out-of-stock, defective, and damaged merchandise. Resolves customer complaints at the lowest level and informs management of barriers to meeting the optimal customer experience.Ensures required level of sanitation is maintained within the assigned working area and assists in cleaning other areas, as required. Assists in unloading, receiving, and storing food and expense supplies.Actively communicates/promotes the benefits of the Military Star credit card to customers in order to drive sales growth and increase customer loyalty.
