Title: Senior Software Engineer Duration: Long term Location: Westlake , TX (ONLY W2)Job Description: Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong mainframe programming expertise to design, develop, and maintain high‑volume, business‑critical production platforms in the payments, taxation, and reconciliation space. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, financial operations teams, and technology partners to deliver stable, secure, and innovative solutions in a fast‑paced environment.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, enhance, and support enterprise‑wide applications in batch and online environments.Perform detailed analysis, design, coding, testing (unit, functional, regression), and deployment of software releases.Troubleshoot and resolve high‑severity production issues with root‑cause analysis and permanent fixes.Partner with product and architecture teams to re‑architect and modernize legacy systems.Ensure compliance with IRS/SEC and other regulatory requirements.Document technical designs, processes, and solutions thoroughly.Contribute to Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, code reviews).Apply data security best practices to safeguard sensitive information.Required Skills7–10 years of experience in enterprise software development.Strong hands‑on expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, IBM Utilities, FileAid, Endevor, SQL.Proven ability to debug code and handle production support.Experience with schedulers, debuggers, and I/O managers.Solid background in unit testing and regression testing.Familiarity with Agile frameworks and collaborative development practices.Strong communication and documentation skills.Nice to HaveExperience writing COBOL/native stored procedures.Exposure to distributed technologies.Well‑spoken, clear communicator.
