General Description A Trucking Dispatcher is an hourly-rated position that performs on construction project any combination of the duties described below.
Key Duties
Schedule and dispatch workers, CDL/Dump Truck Drivers, service vehicles and heavy equipment to and from plant and/or construction sites
Maintain records, logs and schedule of calls and requests for equipment
Monitor transportation of vehicles and construction equipment
Maintain log of vehicles under or needing maintenance
Prepare detailed reports and logs of trucking/equipment activities during shift and in preparation of equipment transportation
Ability to operate computer aided dispatch systems
Accept and track equipment deliveries
Responsible for coordinating pickup and delivery of equipment
Handle order entries, update dispatch systems and maintaining schedule of equipment/trucking deliveries
Maintain communication with on-site staff and truck drivers to ensure on-time and safe delivery
Other duties assigned by supervisors as needed
Qualification Requirements

Education and Experience This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Trucking Dispatcher. Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience.
DOT experience a plus.
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with management, fellow employees and truck drivers.
Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record required.
Physical Demands
Frequent ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
Ability to drive a company vehicle for various recruiting events.
Frequent ability to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone;
Frequent ability to operate standard office equipment, using hand and arm dexterity;
Frequent ability to navigate through office environment, including periodic use of stairs and/or elevator, as needed;
Infrequent ability to lift general office documents and materials, up to 10 pounds;
Frequent vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work generally is performed in an office environment, although periodic visits to construction sites and manufacturing facilities may be required.
