The Joint Counterintelligence Training Activity (JCITA) is a Department of War joint training organization. JCITA serves as the DoW's central authority for standardized counterintelligence (CI) training, education, and professional development across the military services, combatant commands, and select interagency partners. Its mission is to develop, deliver, and sustain joint CI training programs that prepare military, civilian, and contractor personnel to detect, deter, and defeat foreign intelligence threats targeting U.S. forces, operations, technologies, and national security interests. JCITA designs and executes advanced, and specialized CI courses covering areas such as counterespionage, insider threat detection, CI collections and investigations, counterintelligence support to operations, offensive and defensive CI methodologies, cyber-enabled threats, and analytic tradecraft. The organization ensures training standardization across the joint force while integrates real-world threat intelligence into curriculum, and maintains alignment with DoW doctrine, policy, and operational priorities.
