Director/VP of FinanceLocation: Aurora, Illinois (On-Site)Compensation: $160,000–$250,000 (Base) with potential for equity participationAbout UsWe are a fast-growing company with a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment located in Aurora, Illinois, a vibrant suburb of Chicago. With multiple service lines including logistics, IT, and manufacturing, we’re looking for a strategic finance leader to help drive operational excellence, financial planning, and cost optimization. This is a hands-on role that requires both high-level strategy and detailed execution.We currently have a dedicated on-site finance manager who works hard and performs well in their role but is in a junior capacity and not ready to operate at the strategic level this position requires. The new Director/VP of Finance will be expected to mentor this individual while taking ownership of the overall financial strategy and leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Financial Leadership:Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.Partner with leadership to drive financial planning, analysis, and forecasting.Provide insights into cost containment opportunities and resource allocation.Financial Reporting and Analysis:Oversee preparation and analysis of financial reports, including cash flow projections and pricing models.Develop and present financial planning scenarios for new and existing business opportunities.Operational Oversight:Manage financials across diverse business units (e.g., logistics, phlebotomy, IT).Implement and improve cash flow management systems and processes.Work closely with sales to align financial forecasts with business goals.Team Development:Mentor and support the current finance manager to develop their skills and capabilities.Build a high-performing finance team, ensuring both tactical execution and strategic direction.External Collaboration:Oversee relationships with external bookkeeping, CPA, and tax advisory services.Manage complex business structures, including S Corp and LLC entities.QualificationsExperience:10+ years in finance leadership roles, preferably at the Director or VP level.Experience in manufacturing or healthcare is highly desirable.Background in startups or rapidly growing companies is a strong plus.Skills:Exceptional analytical, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilities.Proven ability to develop and implement cost-saving measures.Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring junior team members.Familiarity with complex business structures (S Corps, LLCs) and equity options (e.g., profit interest).Education:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.What We OfferCompetitive salary with a performance-based bonus structure.Opportunity for equity participation through innovative ownership programs.A collaborative and entrepreneurial work environment.Chance to lead financial strategy in a rapidly growing, multi-service-line business.
