About This PositionThe City of Phoenix Human Services Department is seeking a Caseworker II to join the Community Services and Initiatives Division within Aeroterra¿s Permanent Supportive Housing Program. This program provides comprehensive case management to 33 resident units onsite, supports the transition from shelter to stable housing, and offers employment referrals and partners closely with the City of Phoenix Housing Department, Section 8 and property management teams.Community Services Division Caseworkers II's in this division provide case management, information and referral resources, and high-profile community crisis intervention.Case management duties include: Interviewing clients to identify barriers to self-sufficiency.Conducting assessments to determine eligibility for federally funded programs and assistance needed. Developing case plans.Providing referrals to appropriate agencies for services and client follow-up. Responsibilities require considerable contact with diverse low-income groups, other agencies, anti-poverty workers, and the public. Successful candidates should have wide-range knowledge of social services programs, networking, information, and referral resources. They should also possess the ability to work independently and provide Family Services Center support in absence of supervisory staff.IDEAL CANDIDATEFlexibility to conduct fieldwork such as home visits and community outreach as part of client advocacy efforts.Flexibility working after hours, weekends, or flexible scheduling to support community needs.Thrives in a fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations with competing deadlines in an accurate and efficient manner.Ability to de-escalate situations, as needed.Possess crisis intervention skills.SALARYPay Range: $23.74 - $42.64 per hour.Hiring Range: $23.74 - $35.08 per hour.Pay Range ExplanationPay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer.
