Mechanical Designer/Drafter

Receive design input from Engineering Personnel.
Research various design possibilities when appropriate.
Complete detailed drawings for the shop, field and sub-contractor fabrication.
Assure that work is accurate and complete.
Assure that customer and ASI CAD standards are followed.
Assure appropriate application of dimensioning and tolerance values are applied to convey fabrication intent.
Produce clear and precise drawings that are easy to read and efficiently utilize paper.
Travel to job sites as required to check field conditions and collect data. Travel may last for extended time periods.
Include fabrication notes to assist and clarify special procedures that may be needed.
Conform to ISO requirements.
Follow back-up procedures and utilize company resources appropriately
Demonstrate the ability to work professionally as a team player and willingness to assist others.
Regular and predictable attendance.
May require working extended hours, weekends and/or holidays.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned or that become necessary to fulfill the company’s responsibilities and needs with respect to its business.
Qualification Requirements
A High School Diploma
Working knowledge of CAD software
Practical mechanical aptitude to understand the functionality of machinery and equipment
Must have technical comprehension skills to read and understand requirements from specifications, drawings, instructions, and other design input information.
Must be capable of working independently.
Good interpersonal communication skills working with Engineering, Shop and Field personnel.
Understanding of fabrication and dimensioning practices as they relate to the construction of equipment.
