W2 only!Required Skills And Experience1-2 years of experience as Permission Analyst or Licensing Operations related workKnowledge of the publishing world would be idealA permission / copyright knowledge would be a plusKnowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteJob DescriptionThe Permission Analyst (Licensing Operations) plays a critical role in supporting the execution and governance of content licensing and permissions within a medical publishing environment. This position is responsible for the end-to-end processing of permission requests, ensuring timely fulfillment in alignment with service-level agreements and established licensing policies. The analyst maintains and validates accurate metadata, rights information, and transactional records across internal systems, contributing to the integrity and reliability of content access and distribution. Working cross-functionally with editorial, sales, customer service, finance, and external partners, the Permission Analyst helps facilitate efficient content delivery while ensuring compliance with copyright, licensing agreements, and regulatory standards. The role supports rights management activities, including tracking permissions, assisting with alternative format and digital distribution requests, and maintaining audit-ready documentation. This position also contributes to operational excellence by identifying discrepancies, resolving access and data issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within licensing workflows and systems. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while developing foundational expertise in medical publishing, content governance, and rights management.Duties And ResponsibilitiesSupport the process of regular communication with multiple providers on everyday issues as well as new copyright requirements that affect the companyEnsure seamless flow of key metadata between back-office systems and customer facing sitesMaintain content currency by ensuring that our journals and books are properly show on the multiple permission platforms we utilizeIdentify and work to implement efficiencies with time and money across permission operationsEvaluate the overall operational function on non-standard problems, identify problems and or patterns to help create solutionsCommunicate with internal groups as well as external vendors with critical business informationServe as go to person on questions regarding processWork closely with Journal and Book Publishing teams to support processes by which permission is granted on content we produceHandle incoming permissions requests efficiently and in accordance with current permissions policy and fee structureTo maximize potential revenue for each permission request with effective negotiation skillsWork closely with partners and vendors to provide regular information on updates to our content as well as ensure the platforms we utilize are providing the services we needPlan and execute a schedule of regular contacts with key platform providersDevelop and implement a process to ensure our current backfile of books are properly represented on a platformEnsure timely and accurate dissemination of copyright updates to the team and companyProcess manual requests from receipt to invoicing, ensuring that the revenue is properly allocatedCommunicate with requesting clients daily to provide them with the rights needed for their requestContinue to review and adapt procedures that will reduce the turn-around time for each permission requestSupport the finance team with permission revenue as well as the Lippincott Journal team with RFP’s and setting of LERegular reporting of relationship status, contract status and new opportunities,
