Job Description:The IT Project Manager will lead and coordinate IT workstreams related to major construction and renovation projects at UCSF's Mission Bay campus. This role will split time between:A new building developmentA comprehensive renovation of an existing buildingIT construction experience in an academic medical/healthcare settingStrong background working with:Internal IT groups (Infrastructure, Security, Applications)Real Estate / FacilitiesExternal vendors: low-voltage, GC, HVAC, and specialty contractorsExcellent stakeholder management, vendor management, and communication skillsAbility to operate in a complex academic medical environment with multiple parallel workstreams and governance structuresResponsibilities include:Drive IT planning, design, and implementation across each projectCoordinate with Infrastructure, Security, and Applications teams to define and deliver IT scopeWork closely with UCSF Real Estate and external partners (low-voltage vendors, general contractors, HVAC, and other trades) to align IT work with construction schedulesManage project plans, timelines, dependencies, risks, and issues specific to IT in a construction contextEnsure IT infrastructure and services (network, AV, workstations, peripherals, BMS integrations, and business/clinical applications) are designed, installed, tested, and ready for building activationLead stakeholder communications and status reporting to IT leadership and project governance bodies8+ years experience managing IT work on construction projects, including:Network (wired/wireless)AV systemsWorkstations & peripheralsBusiness applicationsBMS (Building Management Systems) or similar building systemsProven experience coordinating with:Internal IT teams (Infrastructure, Security, Applications)Real Estate / Facilities teamsExternal construction-related vendors (low-voltage, GC, HVAC, etc.)Strong end-to-end IT project management: planning, implementation, stakeholder engagement, risk/issues, vendor coordinationExperience working with:Internal IT teams (Infrastructure, Security, Applications)Real Estate / Facilities organizationsExternal low-voltage vendors, general contractors, HVAC contractors, and other tradesExamples of cross-functional coordination and multi-vendor management
